In the past few days two advertisements have caught my fascination.
ING Bank India: (video@youtube)
This advertisement captures the essence of India. Various cultures, traditions are shown with money playng a intricate role. It has a catchy song titled, "mere desh mein paisa sirf paisa nahi hai" (money is not just money in my country). I love to hum this several times a day. The sombre colours used help give the video a down to earth look.
For simple people, money is essential. If we could all be happy with what we have and share some of it with others; the world would be a better place.
Discovery Channel: (video@youtube)
This has a song titled 'Boom de yada'. It has people from various shows singing a song. As I often watch discovery channel, I could identiofy most of the people and shows. We need to appreciate natural beauty and learn to respect world as it is. Kind of reminds you of Louis Armstrong crooning "What a wonderful world"
Looking at the current world affairs I recall a dialogue from "the Matrix". Agent Smith tells Neo that humans are like virus.
Agent Smith: "I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure. "
Yup human beings do behave like a virus but then they have also been responsbile for so much creativity. Its important for us to strike a balance. In fact it isessential to have greater creativity now than destruction. Currently humans maybe a disease but they can also be a cure.
Lets hope for the best!
